Dongguan Municipal Government’s Donation to Her Majesty’s Charity

Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u received a delegation from the Dongguan Municipal Government at the Royal Palace on Friday 15th August 2025.

The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Liu Weimin (Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tonga) and led by the Vice Mayor of Dongguan City, Mr Li Hui who expressed their sincere gratitude for the opportunity to meet Her Majesty and reaffirmed the close friendly relations between The People’s Republic of China and People’s Government of Dongguan and the Kingdom of Tonga.

The delegation also, presented gifts of children’s stationery supplies and other hygienic products and emphasized the beginning of further cooperation and assistance to Her Majesty’s Charity for the benefit of the people of Tonga.

The Delegation also, attended a meeting chaired by Her Royal Highness The Princess Angelika Lātūfuipeka Halaevalu Mata’aho Tuku’aho with representation from the Nobles Wives Committee, the Minister of Internal Affairs, President of the FWC Education System and Acting Director of the Tonga National Centre for Women and Children.

The meeting was to explore and discuss possible avenues for potential collaboration and cooperation between Dongguan Women’s Federation and Female Entrepreneurs Association.

To date, Her Majesty’s Charity in cooperation with international charitable donors have managed to provide humanitarian assistance, care packages, medical supplies, school furniture and educational materials to various communities in Tongatapu, Vavau, Ha’apai, Eua and the Niuas.

Her Majesty’s Charity remains committed to providing schools with the essential resources they require for the improvement of the school environment for the children of Tonga as well as, much needed assistance to the communities and vulnerable groups.
