HER MAJESTY QUEEN NANASIPAU'U CHARITY

Peau Kula Art Donation.

Ms Tanya Edwards (local visual artist) and Mr Benjamin Work (New Zealand Artist) and were received at the Royal Palace on Tuesday 17th October 2023 to present to Her Majesty Queen Nanasipau’u a donation of a cheque for $52,306.59 (TOP).

The donation are proceeds received from the PEAU KULA Art Fundraiser for Tonga following the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’apai volcanic eruption of 15th January 2022 and was the collaborative efforts of Mr Work and fellow NZ artist, Mr Elliot O’Donnell alongside, Ms Edwards, Ms Serene Tay-Siasau in Tonga and several Tongan and other internationally acclaimed artists*.

The donation will go towards Her Majesty’s Charity efforts in providing continued provisions, support and much needed relief supplies for the families that were affected and displaced by the volcanic eruption and tsunami.

To date, Her Majesty’s Charity has continued to distribute relief and humanitarian supplies to the most affected families and communities displaced by the devastating events of 15th January 2022 as well as, distributions of Care packages to the elderly and vulnerable members of the community in Tongatapu, Vava’u, Ha’apai, ‘Eua and the Niuas.  

Her Majesty’s Charity Committee wishes to acknowledge and thank all international donors and, Tongan communities local and abroad for their continued efforts and support for the affected communities and families.
