Royal Visit to the United States of America

His Majesty The King Tupou VI and HM Queen Nanasipau’u visited the United States of America from the 27^th September – 10^th October 2024.

During the Royal Visit, Their Majesties visited the General Conference Seventh-day Adventist Headquarters in Maryland, Silver Springs, The Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and The Loma Linda University Health in the City of Loma Linda.

On the visit to the General Conference SDA Headquarters, Their Majesties The King and Queen were warmly welcomed by President Ted Wilson and Mrs Nancy Wilson.

A personal tour of the Ellen G. White Estate Visitor Center and discussions on the foundations of the SDA Church in the Kingdom of Tonga was also conducted and a special presentation with a specific focus on health, lifestyle and longevity in relation to the works of the SDA Church was delivered by Dr. Peter Landless (GC Health Ministries).

On the 4^th – 5^th October 2024, Dr. Richard Grant (President of the LLUH) and University Senior personnel warmly welcomed and hosted Their Majesties as they visited the Loma Linda University Health and attended a special ‘Saturday Sabbath’ Service.

Discussions during the visit, focussed on the University’s leading training programs offered on Health and Wellness and ‘whole-being’ focus, as well as their many outreach programs conducted in the San Bernadino Region, USA and worldwide.

Their Majesties also, toured the newly installed Adult and Paediatric Hospital Towers at LLUH and viewed the ongoing works of the nurses and health carers at the NICU and the innovative Basement Isolators construction foundations (earthquake prone) at the University.

A member of Loma Linda’s ‘Blue Zone’ community, also, had the opportunity to greet and share a brief insight into her life with Their Majesties at a Special Luncheon hosted by Pastor Randy Roberts on Saturday 5^th October 2024.

The Royal Visit concluded with a Special Thanksgiving and Prayer Service hosted by the Tongan Seventh-day Adventist Church Community and Tongan diaspora in Los Angeles on Sunday 6^th October 2024.
